Sexual Harassment and Complaints Committee (SHCC)
In its commitment to uphold the dignity, safety, inclusive, respectful sporting environment, and well-being of all athletes and technical officials, the Asian Gatka Federation (AGF) is constituting a dedicated Sexual Harassment and Complaints Committee (SHCC) to provide a fair, confidential, and accessible platform for addressing their grievances.
This committee has been constituted in alignment with international standards and the AGF constitution, with the primary objective of safeguarding the dignity, rights, and welfare of Gatka athletes and associated stakeholders participating in national and international events under AGF jurisdiction.
The SHCC shall function as an independent body and will be responsible for receiving, investigating, and resolving complaints related to harassment, misconduct, or any form of injustice faced by male or female Gatka players during AGF-sanctioned events or training camps.
The Committee will be chaired by Mrs Manjeet Kaur, with the following members:
• Mrs Gagandeep Kaur
• Mr Baljit Singh Saini
• Mr Harpreet Singh Sarao
The tenure of the committee will be four years, subject to review and renewal by the AGF Executive Committee.
Key Responsibilities of SHCC:
• Receive and examine complaints from athletes, coaches, referees, and officials regarding harassment, misconduct, bias, or abuse.
• Conduct impartial and timely investigations.
• Recommend suggestions or disciplinary action, or criminal proceedings, if necessary.
• Submit fair and reasonable reports within stipulated timeframe to the AGF Executive Committee for final action.
• Maintain absolute confidentiality and privacy of all complainants, especially women and minor athletes, during and after the resolution process.
Complaints of misconduct or harassment can be lodged via the official email ID of AGF.
This initiative reflects AGF’s zero-tolerance policy towards any form of harassment or discrimination and reinforces its resolve to provide a safe and respectful environment for all Gatka sportspersons.
